Online French For Kids - 5 Reasons It Beats School
Posted by Mario Del Sol | Filed under Reference & Education
Many kids struggle to learn French at school and fall behind their classmates. This is a shame because French is a beautiful language which will give your kids many career opportunities. France is after all, the number 1 holiday destination for Americans and the number 3 for Europeans.
Have you considered an online French for kids course? Below are 5 reasons why an online French for kids course is superior to traditional teaching methods used at school:
1. Games - The best online French for kids courses have fun interactive games your kids can play. They will become addicted to learning! Very sneaky, but it works!
2. Audio Modules - An online French for kids course with audio modules can have the content uploaded to your kid’s mp3 players. Your children will learn French passively and easily with little fuss. They can listen to the material when eating, walking to school or playing on the Xbox.
3. The Four Elements - The four education elements are writing, reading, listening and speaking. Most kids struggle to learn French at school as only writing and reading are concentrated on. This lack of practical teaching is why less is learned and what has been learned is much more easily forgotten.
The best online French for kids courses will include modules from all four key educational elements meaning that your kids will find learning French much easier.
4. Online Forums - With an online forum, your kids can meet other kids their own age and skill level and open chat windows. Also, if you have a head set, they can talk with their new friends…In French of course! This will give your kids valuable practical experience of speaking and listening they will never get at school.
5. Cost - You could get your child a personal tutor to teach them French. Your child would benefit enormously from this one to one tuition and it would typically cost you around $40 per hour.
However, a good online French for kids course will set you back around $100 and you will get a 2 month guarantee. If your child doesn’t learn French quickly, you get your money back.

How To Succeed With Distance Learning Education While You Work
Posted by Mary Jackson | Filed under Reference & Education
One of the main attractions of a distance learning education is the ability to continuing working, and earning a paycheck, while going to school. With the best of both worlds, students do not have to attend classes on campus. In addition, they have the flexibility to study at a personal pace and during the time best suited to their schedule. No wonder obtaining an online degree is enticing more people to further their education.
However, even learning online is not perfect. It requires a lot of discipline to stay on task and keep personal priorities straight. As a learner, you must be intrinsically motivated to succeed. Without the in-class interaction between peers and the professor, it is more difficult to keep focused on the ultimate goal.
So, how can a distance learner overcome the challenges of shuffling work, school, and family? Creating and sticking to a schedule is the only way to survive and succeed. The trick is to apportion a 24 hour day to include enough time for the family, work, and school responsibilities. Thus, it is very important to let the family in on the plan, and when you should not be disturbed. Again, do not give into the temptation to deviate from the plan.
Getting yourself motivated is also essential towards distance learning education success. One of the ways to do this is to stay in contact with your classmates. With the internet today, it is often easy to stay in touch through email, instant messenger as well as internet phone. Discussing projects or assignments with your teammates will help you stay on track and keeps you and your teammates accountable for one another.
In addition to peer contact, rewarding personal education goals is an excellent way to stay motivated and succeed in obtaining a distance learning education. Write particular course milestones on a calendar, and then celebrate the achievement. For example, after turning in a major paper, do something nice for yourself. Then, cross out each accomplishment. With a sense of personal satisfaction, it will keep you motivated to face the next educational hurdle.
Finally, make sure to have a quiet, undisturbed place to study. It is extremely easy to be distracted by the television, a ringing phone, or normal family activities in the household. If necessary, lock yourself in a quiet room equipped with a comfortable chair, a good desk or table, and ample space to create a productive learning environment.
Distance learning education is an excellent way to improve job opportunities and acquire a desired degree. However, success depends on the individual. With hard work, determination and the discipline to stay on track and maintain good study habits, academic excellence is within sight, without relocating and sacrificing job and family.
Mary Jackson authors articles for online distance education including a guide where you also find information on various distance learning education degrees programs and colleges.

How Can You Spot A Fake Online Bachelor Degree?
Posted by Mary Jackson | Filed under Reference & Education
As the demand for the online Bachelor degree rises, so do the number of fake colleges and universities. Some actually offer diplomas for sale to potential customers through bulk emails. However, many take advantage of innocent and unsuspecting students by offering lower than normal tuition fees, credit for life experiences, no tests, and an easy road to that coveted diploma. If it sounds too good to be true, it generally is the case.
Unfortunately, it can be difficult for aspiring students to differential between a real online Bachelor degree and the one that is not worth the paper on which it is printed. Most students are seeking an online education because they do not have the ability to attend classes on campus. In addition, many simply live too far away-even overseas. Therefore, the only criterion for determining a school’s validity is the website. Important decisions are made on whether the site looks professional and seems to offer the right education; but, that is no way to judge whether a college is credible or not.
One of the best ways to determine credibility is to pay close attention to how the credentials are stated. For example, if an educational institution claims to have nationwide or worldwide accreditation, without revealing which government agency provided the accreditation, it’s possible the college or university probably does not possess the necessary seal of approval to provide legitimate online Bachelor degrees.
In the U.S., college accreditation is awarded by one of the following six accreditation agencies which are all appointed by the National Board of Education - New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA), Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA), Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS), Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU). Each agency has been allocated responsibility for providing accreditation for schools in specific states. Therefore, it would be best to run checks on a particular online degree institution with the agency offering college accreditation for the state in which the college is registered in.
Another tell-tale sign of bogus online bachelor degrees offered is when the university advertises itself through mass-mailing email featuring university degrees for sale. Many bogus distance learning institutions prey on people who are desperate for a degree, but don’t have the time and money to go for proper education. That is why these colleges boast of degrees without any examinations, classes, studying or even waiting. There are even websites that offer online bachelor degrees for just a few hundred dollars which can be ordered and received within 7 days. Furthermore, some of them also have dubious accrediting links, stating accreditation from agencies which are not any one of the six listed above. Additionally, they offer fixed prices for their Master’s, Bachelor’s, and even Doctorate Degrees. Their justification for awarding degrees will be for giving credit to life experiences such as any type of work experience, any educational background, any workshops or community services attended as well as travel experience, hobbies and even on the number of books that a person has read!
In conclusion, as the awareness on bogus degrees increases amongst prospective employers, degrees obtained through a legitimate avenue of education can sometimes be mistaken for bogus online bachelor degrees too. Therefore, the best approach to select a college would ideally be based on legitimate college accreditation awarded by the appointed authorities to the respective colleges.

DYNAMIC SPEED READING becomes a part of long-term memory. We believe this is caused by intense concentration. Intense concentration causes the altering of states of consciousness which, in turn, accesses long-term memory.
The other factor is eidetic or auditory memories. You can remember everything you have ever seen or heard, even if you weren’t paying attention to what was said. Your brain/mind, like a computer, stores all memories.

Play Offense When Seeking Athletic Scholarships
Posted by John Barnett | Filed under Recreation & Sports
The cost of attending college is rising by 6.5% every year. If you are planning to attend a public university figure on spending around $80,000 for that undergraduate degree; twice that if you have your eye on a private education. Sure, you can seek an academic scholarship, financial aid, a grant and student loans, but what if that’s not enough to get you there? $1.2 billion in scholarship money is awarded every year to high school athletes for their commitment to continue playing at the college level. As you start to put your application packet together, here’s what you should know about the process:
1. Go straight to college after high school graduation. In order to be considered for an athletic scholarship, you have to be between’ and 24 years old, so if you dilly dally for a year or two after high school, you might blow it. Most scholarships are awards to those who go to college the fall after getting your diploma.
2. There are 29 sports recognized by the NCAA (National College Athletic Association) The women’s list is a little longer and includes: Archery, Water Polo, Volleyball, Basketball, Bowling, Track & Field (Indoor and Outdoor), Cross Country, Tennis, Equestrian, Fencing, Synchronized Swimming, Swimming and Diving, Field Hockey, Golf, Squash, Softball, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Skiing (Cross Country and Downhill), Rowing and Rifle.
Female athletes have even more opportunities: Basketball, Volleyball, Track & Field (Indoor and Outdoor), Soccer, Tennis, Equestrian, Fencing, Synchronized Swimming, Swimming and Diving, Water Polo, Golf, Squash, Ice Hockey, Gymnastics, Archery, Lacrosse, Skiing (Cross Country and Downhill), Rowing and Field Hockey.
3. Unless you and your athleticism has already become a household name in your region, don’t count on a recruiter finding you. Instead, prepare a sports portfolio of your efforts and make sure that it gets on the desk of the coach you are trying to play for at the college level. A bio of your life in sports and as many newspaper and/or broadcast TV clips of your highlights will be fine.
4. Grades still come first. Although coaches ultimately make the decision about which athletes will be granted a scholarship, the decision isn’t based on athleticism alone. Far from it, in fact. Did you know that you have to be accepted by the admissions board prior to being considered? Your SAT score, as well as your high school GPA and other materials in your application packet all factor into the coach’s decision.
If you are talented (and lucky!) enough to secure financial support for your college expenses based on your ability to play sports, you should keep your eye on your major. While there are some college athletes who go on to lucrative careers in professional sports, the majority of them find work their chosen field and find a different kind of success.
John Barnett is a high school baseball and soccer coach. He earned a masters degree at an online college and is considering several online colleges for additional study.

Learning Management System: Providing Simple Answers to Not So Simple Learning Styles
Posted by Klauss Auerbach | Filed under Reference & Education
The introduction of the Learning Management System has changed how people look at education and the strategies employed by teachers. Previously, teachers use methods that they are comfortable with but this may not be effective to some students. This leaves parents of students that lag behind worried about the type of education that their children are receiving. On the other hand, parents of children that excel may be inclined to believe that their children are not given enough challenge to develop to their full potential.
Students have unique ways of learning the lessons. This must be taken into account to achieve their full educational potential. This is what the Learning Management System (LMS) provides. By considering the student’s learning style - visual, auditory or kinetic, the LMS provides courses that appeal to the student. This is truly an effective and efficient solution.
To facilitate the learning of visual learners, movies, slides, pictures and the like are used since they organize information by color coding, graphs, charts, maps to name a few. The courses created and distributed by LMS provide visual cues to foster a deeper understanding of the subject in a manner that is appealing to the learner. This way the student will have less difficulty with the lessons.
Using music, sounds, voiceover, verbal instructions are most effective for auditory learners. They have easier time learning by decoding auditory cues. There are numerous materials available for students with this learning style.
Kinetic learners prefer to physically manipulate and interact with the environment to learn. They would opt to show you how to open a lock in stead of giving you the combination. The Learning Management System has courses and resources that will foster the learning of these students. Incorporated in the courses are activities that will make their learning more engaging as well as meaningful.
There are many content creators that have toiled hard to provide you with an effective and efficient learning solution regardless of the learning style of the student. Through the Learning Management System, these courses are made available to students who need specific types of instructional methods whether to catch up on lessons or provide further educational challenges. Suffice to say, the LMS provides exactly what the student needs to learn.
