Step 2: Ensure that the screen is always clean and clear. Your laptop screen is expensive so it is really important that you take exceptional care of it all the time. Because this is a very fragile part of the laptop, avoid pointing at the screen if it is unnecessary and clean it up always. Be sure to only use those cleaning materials that are safe to use for your laptop screen.
Step 3: Make use of laptop bags and avoid placing the laptop on the edges of the table. When carrying your portable laptop elsewhere ensure that it is cased inside the bag and that it is not dropped off. WHen this happens, it could immediately kill the life of your laptop.
Step 4: Keep your laptop from getting wet. It is unavoidable that you drink and eat near it especially when you are stuck with work loads. If you must, do so with a lot of care. As much as possible keep yourself from doing so because it could spell disaster once your laptop gets wet.
Step 5: Regularly clean your portable laptop. Brushing the keyboards to remove grime or other small solid objects that may be obstructive. Wipe the edges and other hard wares like the mouse and the mouse pad.
Step 6. Avoid Viruses. Make sure that your laptop has an anti virus program - and make sure that your program is updated. There are numerous programs that you can choose from, but make sure that its not just a trial version that eventually expires after a month. Remember that there are numerous viruses that come out each and every month - and your portable laptop can be exposed to them all the time.

- In case you accidentally spill liquid on your laptop, turn it off immediately, then turn it over so that the liquid doesn’t seep all the more into the laptop.

- Always run your virus scan before opening your floppy disk, external hard drive or flash drive. They might contain viruses.
- Keep your portable laptop away from children’s reach. Don’t underestimate the destructive powers of your pets as well.
- Look after your laptop all the times. Leaving it unattended calls for theft.
