Boat Auction Processes
Posted by Rick Dupont | Filed under Recreation & Sports
People are only starting to realise how popular boat auctions actually are. People choose boat auctions for a number of reasons, for instance in many cases you can get boats super cheaply when compared to getting from a dealer. Another reason is finance, If you have poor finance you may find it easier to get money loaned at an auction house then a dealer. Also many people find that rare boats are often sold via an auction from peoples estates after they have passed away, this is actually common.
There are plenty of Auction houses and a lot of the time they have different systems but in nearly all cases the basic process is all the same. One of the important differences is some require registration and some don’t, this isn’t a major thing, it just means they have a different way of tracking the buyers. No matter what happens boat auctions are nearly all the same the highest bidder wins, everybody else losers.
Auctions Are A Simple Beast
The auctions themselves are usually very simple: a boat goes up for bid, bids are put up and the boat goes home with whoever bids the most. In almost all cases, the former owner of the boat has to supply the boat auction house with paperwork that details a boat’s history and proof of its condition. This ensures that the boat is not, first and foremost, stolen property and it helps to establish what a new owner can expect out of a boat, especially if it’s purchased with damage to it.
There are some things that are must do’s before an auction. You really need to know about the type of boat you are looking for so make sure you research. This research will have to look at what you want the boat to do, pros and cons of different types of boats, its important that you get a boat that suits your need. Lastly make sure that you actually by what you want not just settle on something that may not do the job, this will only lead to disappointment.

The Kershaw Blur Razor Sharp Review
Posted by Jimmy Fuller | Filed under Recreation & Sports
Kai USA is one of the most recognizable manufacturers of knives. Its flagship Kershaw knives brands are reputable for their quality and have a fiercely loyal fan base. That’s why there would be a high level of expectation on the Kershaw Blur range of knives by anyone who has handled a Kershaw knife before. A casual look at the Kershaw Blur knife and one can tell that a significant amount of attention and detail has gone into enhancing the aesthetics of the knife while taking care not to compromise the effectiveness of the knife.
The vast majority of Kershaw knives tend to have a naturally shaped handle, but the new Kershaw Blur sports a much flatter and sleeker design. In order to accommodate this, they have used a special tape on the grip so that the knife can still be handled effectively without having to worry about it slipping out of the hand.
The knife handle is light and durable since it is made from anodized aluminum-the same type of metal that is used for building airplanes. The approximate weight of the Kershaw Blur is about 4.2 oz which is impressive when one considers that the knife is about 4.5 inches long.
Unlike the handle, the blade has been manufactured from high grade stainless steel in order to guarantee strength, and to prevent it from becoming damaged by corrosion. There’s also no need for a buyer to sharpen the knife when they purchase it because they are sharpened prior to being shipped. Another outstanding quality of the knife is that the blade retains its sharpness for a longer period of time than most other comparable knives.
One of the things that some Kershaw die-hards might have a problem with when it comes to the Kershaw Blur might be the integration of a thumb-stud as opposed to the usual trigger. Strictly speaking, this in itself might not be a problem and the main issue here would likely be the discomfort experienced Kershaw knife veterans that might have gotten used to the trigger now having to contend with this new mechanism.
Kershaw die-hards will also be pleased to discover that the Speed Safe concept has been retained, and so has the ability to open the knife with just a single hand.
It should also be mentioned that even though the blade has been manufactured from high quality stainless steel, that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible for it to rust. With that said, it’s not very likely unless your knife is stored primarily in an area that is excessively humid. For the average person however, the chance of seeing any rust appearing is minimal.
At present, Kershaw Blur knives are available in gray, black, and red, and they come with a price tag which ranges between $60 and $65. For those who are keen to get their hands on one of these outstanding knives, you can do so either by visiting an authorized dealer or by ordering online.

Binocular Harness Strap Makes Birdwatching Easier
Posted by Bart Icles | Filed under Recreation & Sports
Are you a serious bird watcher? You enjoy trekking through fields, along streams, and hiking up hills to spot birds? Birds move fast, in a moment they can be sitting right in front of you, and the next moment they are long gone. Your binoculars need to be ready all the time. Using a binocular harness strap can help you be ready, before the bird escapes.
Hiking down the trails along a creek can be a bit challenging, with the overhanging limbs and tall grasses pushing onto the trail. To see some birds in their natural habitat, you must take these journeys. The hike can become even more challenging when your binoculars are swinging back and forth. You lean down to step under a branch, and your binoculars swing wildly out, threatening to crash into the ground, or the surrounding plant life. You don’t want to put them away, because you know the moment you do, you’re going to miss sighting the bird you’re searching for.
With a Bushnell binocular harness, or a Nikon Prostaff binocular harness strap safely keeping your binoculars against your body, you will be able to move freely, and quickly down the trail. When you bend over, your binoculars stay against your body, and do not come swinging wildly down. You can keep them out, and ready for bird spotting.
Once you have tried a bino harness, you will understand they are not only for keeping your binoculars safe, they are very comfortable. The weight of the binoculars is not concentrated on your neck. Now the weight is balanced on your body. With a standard strap, along with the swinging of your binoculars you can get a very sore neck. With a binocular harness, your neck is not carrying the load, and not feeling the strap rubbing back and forth as you walk.
A binocular harness is very adjustable, and can be used for people of any weight, and height. You can adjust your level of tightness to suit the manner of movement you like. With a standard strap you have only two options, loose or looser. Knowing you can safely drop your binoculars down into the waiting position is especially helpful when you want to quickly grab a camera, or a GPS to record your sighting.
Freedom from a swinging set of binoculars is going to make your days out in the wild easier and more enjoyable. You will love the freedom of a binocular harness.
At MyBinocularHarness.com you can find a binocular strap harness and much more.

The Facts On Galvin Green Waterproof Golf Clothing
Posted by Harry Michaels | Filed under Recreation & Sports
Galvin Green waterproof golf clothing today presents itself well because it is now one of the top waterproof (and regular) golf clothing lines on the golf markets. This company is well-known in golfing, especially in Europe, and is respected for the quality of the clothing that it produces by almost every golfer, including top pros. It also is known to make many different lines of clothing.
Once one begins to take a close look at the waterproof clothing offered by Galvin, one immediately becomes aware of how effective its waterproof clothing really is. This is mainly due to the fact that the company makes good use of a number of effective waterproofing fabrics such as Gore-Tex in order to provide the maximum protection to any golfer wearing its clothing on a wet or rainy day.
The waterproof line of golf clothing offered by Galvin also comes off as fashionable and chic in a way that had never been associated with waterproof golf clothing in the past. The philosophy of the company is to take a hard look at each piece of clothing and assess it for how it would work with another piece of clothing. This is known as layering, and each piece makes use of a variety of materials.
In addition to liberal use of the fantastic fabric Gore-Tex, the company also makes wide use of other fabrics such as Insula and Paclite, both of which are well-known in the industry for controlling the environment in which the clothing has found itself. Lately, it seems that almost any golfer needing protection from the elements is clamoring for a Galvin Green Akron waterproof jacket one’s own.
Truthfully, most golf clothing items from this company wouldn’t be considered inexpensive in any light, but most every golfer that has ever put on something like the Akron will become an instant and fanatic believer in the clothing. This is especially so with the Akron, because of its laminated and insulated fabric that makes great use of Gore-Tex. In fact, the Akron is always in short supply due to its popularity.
In the golf clothing market today, Galvin Green waterproof golf clothing is a trend setter and industry leader. The company has worked hard to offer clothing lines for men and women that can accommodate every shape and size, it seems. Additionally, even though these articles of clothing aren’t very inexpensive, one can be assured that they are of the highest quality and durability.

What Saltwater Fish To Fish For In Florida
Posted by David Spates | Filed under Recreation & Sports
If you want some of the best saltwater fishing in the world then the tropical waters of Florida will be your best bet. Florida offers great fishing from the inshore waters, to the deep waters in the gulf and the Atlantic ocean.
The warm waters of Florida will offer you a variety of fish both offshore and inshore. For the offshore fishermen you can expect grouper, marlin, big sharks, dolphin fish, snapper and more. For the inshore fishermen you can expect to catch snook, trout, redfish, sheepshead, bonefish and snapper also.
One of the most looked for saltwater fish that stay inshore are the snook. There are four different species of snook, and they are some of the best eating out of all of saltwater fish. There are closed seasons for snook, and they require a special snook stamp on your saltwater fishing license to keep them.
Dolphin, otherwise known as mahi mahi is an offshore fish that will also put up a great fight. They are very colorful and often the smaller ones will travel in schools. The most efficient way to catch dolphin is by means of trolling, anywhere in south Florida on the gulf side to 10-40 miles offshore. They are excellent to eat and the season is opened year round for them.
Snapper fish are another great fish to go after for the Florida angler. There are many species of snapper and they can be found all over Florida, from the inshore waters by mangroves and docks, to off shore obstructions like sunken ships and rocky seabed terrain.
If you are flats fishing and want a fish that will give you a fight you can try to go for some bonefish. For their weight they will fight harder than any saltwater fish there are, you will need some experience under your belt to land one of these, as they can strip a 100 yards of line off your reel in the matter of seconds.
Sharks can be found everywhere in Florida since there are many species of them here. Inshore you can find small black tips and hammerheads. If you go to deep waters you can find much larger sharks up to a thousand pounds, you will need heavy tackle to land one and should only be fished for by professionals.
These are just a few of the more popular saltwater fish that swim the waters of Florida, there are many more out there. If you are just beginning then I would recommend starting off fishing from a dock or a pier, and then work my way to offshore fishing.
Now if you have your heart set on catching some big fish that are offshore then all hope is not lost. With a good amount of money you can hire a local fishing captain to take you to catch some big fish. Saltwater fishing charters can be found everywhere in Florida, just ask around and do some research before choosing one.

Costa Rica’s Renting Eco-Cars
Posted by Leslie J. Riannen | Filed under Travel
On a recent trip to Costa Rica we discovered that the public transportation was really taking a lot of our time. Waiting on connections, early departures and many stops along the way were our main issues. After a few days, we decided to rent a car.
Along the way we met a couple that had just rented a car and said that it had changed the pace of their vacation for the better. The process was simple and it had saved them a lot of time. They shared some recommendations with us and off we went.
A big draw for us was that there were a couple of green rental car companies in Costa Rica. We were happy to know their cars were emission free and would not harm the environment. So the decision was made and off we went.
Only being in Costa Rica for a few days can give you an idea of the trying road conditions. At best, they are moderately drivable and in some of the more remote locations they can be down right terrible. That was a concern we had from the beginning about renting a car.
When we rented our car, we made the decision to go with the GPS. We were familiar with Costa Rica and their lack of street names and numbers and thought this would make it easier. We were happy that we got the GPS because it allowed us to get off the road most traveled and see some amazing out of the way places in Costa Rica.
We want to tell you that renting a four-wheel drive is definitely the way to go. With a lot of the roads being unpaved, especially in the rain, they can be difficult to maneuver. The time we saved by avoiding the public transport schedule allowed us to get to more places than originally planned and that was so great.
It was really nice to know that we could do our part while on vacation and drive an eco-friendly car. A few companies in Costa Rica are working together to save the planet, why not support their efforts? Keep the air clean with an emissions free car.
There are many countries with bad roads, but I think Costa Rica tops the list. The maximum speed you can go on many of them is only 25 mph. We did find that the GPS was a great addition and will probably use this option on future vacations.
If you are going to rent a car in Costa Rica, remember that it gets dark early. The sun sets by 6:00 p.m. making the roads even more difficult in most of the isolated locations. Our vacation was amazing and we will definitely go again, renting a car to explore more of this beautiful country.
Visiting Costa Rica? Leslie J. Riannen Asks that you visit in style while being Eco Friendly by picking the only Green Costa Rica Car Rental Company. Mapache offers Car Rental in Liberia for its total fleet of low emission vehicles. Go to their site to reserve safely and securely before your next trip.

What are the Different Parts of a Bowie Knife Blade Used For?
Posted by Dylan Sabot | Filed under Recreation & Sports
If you have just purchased your first bowie knife, or even if you have been an avid collector of these blades for a number of years, it can be difficult to determine exactly what all the different parts of the blade are supposed to be used for. Part of this confusion stems from the myriad different styles of blade out there. For instance, you’ll find modern bowies that have saw-tooth edging on the spine, while historically accurate models do not include this feature. What are the different parts supposed to do?
Clip Point - Your bowie knife has one defining feature; it has a clipped point. This is the end of the blade and it looks like someone cut a section out of the tip. This is an important feature and serves several purposes. First, it serves to narrow the point of the knife, giving you greater control during use. Second, it ensures that the bowie knife has better penetrative (stabbing) power. As you might imagine, these benefits come in quite handy.
False Edge - The false edge of a bowie knife is the portion of the point that curves inward and upward from the point to meet the spine of the blade. This has little use unless sharpened (these are called Sheffield Bowies). When sharpened, the false edge allows for back cutting, but also provides better performance when skinning, gutting or stabbing, as it increases the tip’s cutting surface significantly.
Spanish Notch - The Spanish Notch is another sometime inclusion. You’ll find that this notch offers little in the way of enhanced usability, but it does provide you with a handy point to start sharpening the blade. The notch sits at the back edge of the blade, just before the ricasso. This might have originally been used to help skin branches, or have been used to work with nautical rigging or other rope forms, but today it has few uses and is rarely found except on historically accurate bowie knives.
You will find a bowie knife that offers features that fit your needs with a bit of searching. Make sure that you understand the different uses of all the blade areas, prior to making any purchase decision, though. This is the only way that you can ensure you get the right bowie knife for your particular usage needs.

A Garage Floor Covering For Hideous Floors
Posted by Gabriel Conway | Filed under Home & Family
If you are buying a house that needs remodeling, your garage floor may not be looking too great. And you may not have realized that having a concrete floor in your garage makes it prone to cracking, and any neglected cracks can make applying new paint or other coatings impossible. This problem can stem from other factors like the ground shifting, garage flooding, or other factors that damage concrete in ways that are inevitable. Despite this, there are times when a garage floor needs a covering, whether it is the result of a damaged foundation or just the surface that is unwanted.
Why Shouldn’t I Just Repair The Concrete?
There are certainly methods that you can use to repair your damaged concrete, and smallish cracks can be painted over, but this won’t stop the cracks from expanding, as they most certainly will. For the most part, whatever it was that caused the original damage will probably damage it again. Because of this, if the floor is damaged enough, it’s smarter to just forgo the garage floor paint and go straight to the coverings. By garage floor coverings, in this case, we mean mats or garage floor tiles. In summary, pretty much anything that doesn’t merely coat the original concrete, but places a completely different type of material on top, one that is not chemically bonded. Both of the types of coverings that we will mention can be used on damaged floors, but not necessarily in every situation.
Garage Floor Tiles Only Work Sometimes
If you plan to use tiles on a floor with only smallish cracks, you may not need to do anything with the cracks before you do. This is because tiles can grip the garage flooring all around the crack, instead. Because garage floor tile really isn’t a coating, and is actually a separate material altogether, they may actually help hold things together and prevent expansion of old cracks as well as new ones. Just like any other garage floor coverings, the point is to cover any defects so that, while they’re still there, they’re not visible. Garage floor tiles are not ideal in situations where the concrete garage floor is stained, however. If you do use tiles in this case, the stains will end up “sweating”, and dissolving the sticky stuff that holds the tiles to the ground. When this happens, the tiles will lose their grip, and the floor won’t be in any better shape than it was before.
Garage Floor Mats Work All The Time
In some cases when the garage flooring is just really defiled, your only choice is to use garage floor mats. Fortunately, a mat is just as adept for resistance against chemicals as most anything, and it can be made to look great while doing it’s job. Unluckily though, it is like placing a “Band-Aid” onto your problem, and may even return to reek havoc. If your concrete is seriously breaking up in spots, it might dish out some jagged edges that will tear any garage floor covering, particularly when the covering has been driven upon. It is possible that the terrible state of the concrete can go unnoticed as it degrades even further, if covered up by a garage floor mat. However, if your garage floor mat does get damaged, it can be replaced with the smallest of problems. Of course, that is only if you are able to afford to buy another mat.
You May Not Have To Decide Your Garage Floor Covering
When it comes down to it, your choice of garage floors is pretty simple: if tiles will stick, then you can use either tiles or mats. If they won’t, for whatever reason, then you’re stuck with your choice of garage floor mats.
Check out Sweet Garage Floor for more information on garage floor coverings.

Understanding Bow Hunting
Posted by Arthur Smith | Filed under Recreation & Sports
Even though the compound bow is a recent invention the bow is a hunting tool that has been around for millennia. Hunters use compound bows for hunting today because they are most accurate and strongest. Of course in order to be a successful bow hunter you will need to be aware of a few more things in addition to the bow.
When bow hunting you will have to really get close to the prey to increase your chances of getting a kill. This even though an art on its own, tracking, hiding and shooting, you will have to keep an eye out for potential dangerous prey that could attack hunters.
Many hunters who prefer to use bows for their hunting do equip themselves with certain kinds of equipment that gives them other kinds of advantages over their prey. Hunters equip themselves with global position systems to keep track of their whereabouts, special sensors even night vision equipment when hunting at night.
Keep in mind that when bow hunting the methods employed to hunt vary based on what kind of prey you will be hunting for. Big prey requires different tactics than smaller prey. Big prey refers to deer, elk, caribou, moose, and large boar whereas small prey could be rabbi and birds. Regardless, the hunter needs to be aware of the details concerning the type of prey they are going after.
Learning from more experienced hunters is very important especially if you are a beginner hunter. You might want to consider taking on a couple of organized hunting trips with other experienced hunters and learn a few things about the prey and the techniques required to attract it.
A good bow hunter must know these techniques when hunting for a particular species. Aside from knowing how to bait and be able to not get detected a good bow hunter must have all the right equipment. The most important part of the hunters gear is the hunting bow. There are many types of hunting bows out there however compound bows are preferred by most bow hunters.
It is not hard to find good Cheap Compound Bows. There are many types and makes to choose from. If you are getting a bow for a youth then we recommend searching for Bowtech compound bows.
