Why Are Fireplace Screens Important?
Posted by Jeff Bridges | Filed under Arts & Entertainment
Many people enjoy having fireplaces in their home. There are different types of fireplaces. Some fireplaces burn wood while others are gas or electric. Any of these will add beauty as well as warmth in a home. If you are fortunate to have a fireplace installed in your home, then you should know how important fireplace screens are in the home.
Sometimes people wonder if the fireplace screen is truly necessary, and the answer is yes. It takes very little research to find that screens for fireplaces prevent sparks from jumping out of the firebox and causing damage to the home. Sparks can often fly several feet beyond the hearth and burn carpets. However, if the only damage you get is a hole burned in the carpet you should consider yourself lucky. In addition, screens can also prevent burning logs from rolling into the home.
While a necessity for wood burning fireplaces, a fireplace screen can also give a look of authenticity to gas or electric fireplaces. They can also prevent children from getting too close to the heat source and being burned. Since fireplaces often form the focal point of a room, adding a screen and fireplace tools, makes the fireplace look great.
The screen is such an integral part of a fireplace that many people who never use their fireplaces will add a screen just to complete the look. When you do burn wood in the fireplace, your screen will give you the assurance that you are trying to do you best to protect your home from fire.
Fireplace screens are available in many unique designs. Some will have colored glass inserts while others have decorative metal work in front of the screens. You will find flowers, scroll work and gold or brass work to decorate the screen.
Screens can also be used to hide the mess of a wood fire. Ashes and partially burned wood is discussed behind the fireplace screen. This can help you living area to look great until you can have an opportunity for cleaning.
If you want to view your fire without the screen, then you should purchase a glass screen or glass doors. The glass gives you the opportunity to see the fire with an unobstructed view.
Fireplace screens have been in use for many years, but they still offer a great way to keep you burning safely and to protect the home. Fireplace screens help to keep fireplaces safe and looking great.
Jeff Bridges has always enjoyed the warmth received in front of the fire he currently runs a website where he sells fireplace screens. There they promote many differently styles, colors, and designs of fireplace screens.

How To Buy The Right Fireplace Screens For Your Home
Posted by Jeff Bridges | Filed under Arts & Entertainment
A roaring fire in a fireplace is one of the best and most romantic ways to warm up on a cold day. But a fireplace is dangerous as well as beautiful. As long as you have the right tools and accessories you can reduce the risk to your furniture and flooring and make it easier to get and keep the fire burning well.
A fireplace screen is made up of several parts. There is a metal framework which holds a screen that prevents sparks from popping out of the fire and onto your floor or furniture. Most often, they are used with a wood burning fireplace since these are the only ones that have the risk of giving off sparks and flying cinders. You can use a fireplace screen with other types of fireplace, but these are often merely ornamental rather than functional.
If you are shopping for fireplace screens, you want to make sure that they are heavy and stable. You want to make sure that they are not going to be knocked over easily because this can cause injury, and may end up having sparks get out of the fire anyway. A fireplace screen should have mesh in the front. This allows proper air flow and can help to keep the fire from smoking which it can do if there is not the proper air supply. Solid panels can be great to block off the fireplace opening when there is no fire, but you need something more breathable when you have a fire lit.
You can pick different shapes and styles of fireplace screen. The style you pick has more to do with personal preference than with how the screen functions. A three panel screen is most common. It has two legs or side screens that hold up a larger central screen.
There are also screens which have four or more panels, but these are just three panel screens with a divided central screen. When you are shopping for a fireplace screen, you should be able to view the fire behind it since this is part of the fun and enjoyment you get from a fire.
A fireplace screen should also provide a convenient way to access the fire that is burning. You want to make sure that you can draw the screen aside to poke or prod the fire, or you should be able to move part of the screen easily. You need to keep in mind that if the screen is made of metal (which most of them are) it may tend to get quite warm because it is exposed to the heat of the fire for long periods of time.
Finding a fireplace screen is not difficult. They are sold in stores and on websites. You can find them in home improvement shops, furniture stores and fireplace supply stores as well. It may be easy to find them but picking the right one can be a hard decision to make. By thinking about your needs and how you use your fireplace, it should not be hard to make the choice that is right for you.
Jeff Bridges has always enjoyed a warm fire on a cold winter’s night he currently helps run a fireplace screens website, which promotes fireplace screens in all shapes and styles.

Have a Look at the Panasonic Viera TX-L32S10
Posted by Wayne Connors | Filed under Product Reviews
The Panasonic TX-L32S10 LCD television is a solidly built product of the world-class Panasonic television creation machine. This liquid crystal, flat panel TV delivers high definition at industry standard 1080p, and is normally considered to be an entry-level model in the Panasonic lineup. Most experts who looked at the unit consider it a television and aimed at casual viewers and even gamers.
The television itself is presented in a very attractive case, and is a 32 inch diagonal presented on a flat-panel surface. It comes with its own supplied stand upon which it can sit or it can be attached to a wall mount with relative ease. The finish is classic piano black, which is the standard for most televisions in this price range and with its capabilities.
As far as audiovisual input and output ports go, there are several of them in the rear and several more are supplied along the side. These are of the HDMI variety, which is standard for televisions in this price range. A total of three HDMI inputs, along with headphone jacks and certain other video input/output component jacks are also supplied.
The high definition capabilities of this Panasonic are well within the industry standard for TVs in this price range. When the TV is used in standard definition mode — which is something many viewers still are unveiling themselves of — it can look quite fine as far as picture quality goes. Most high definition television enthusiasts say that is probably gaming where the TV does the best.
The reason this is so is because of this particular Panasonic’s pixel transition times and almost nonexistent input lag. What this means is that the television can translate the signal from the videogame console and put it on the screen and no time at all. Additionally, most gamers have said that the images that are shown are extremely vivid, which they love. They also say to use it in the cinema mode rather than the gamer mode.
When it comes to audio in this particular Panasonic, most television mavens recommend that it be joined up with a pair of high quality active speakers, especially if the desired effect is to have a bit of booming sound. Still, it will deliver good quality audio with little trouble, especially when one considers the price and how easily it meets or beats most other televisions in this segment.
Average prices for this particular unit run around 500 English pounds, and that seems to be about right considering that it delivers a picture that is rated pretty nicely and at 1080p quality. Additionally, the unit is a Panasonic, and that is something that can command a better price in many cases. Online retailers have been known to discount the television a bit, so keep that in mind.
As far as high definition, liquid crystal flat panel televisions go, this Panasonic is a solid performer when taking price and other capabilities into consideration. It delivers good quality high-definition and excellent quality standard definition and does nothing particularly poor and quite a few things particularly well, especially when one is going to be using it almost exclusively for gaming. Combine that with Panasonic’s quality reputation and there’s a lot to like about this model.

Losing Weight And The New You!
Posted by Casey Wigwire | Filed under Health & Fitness
You wake up each morning and you want to eat right. You prepare a nutritious breakfast and you are off to a great start. So many people pass on breakfast and then they have issues and wonder why. Not you. You know better. Never skip meals to lose weight, in fact do quite the opposite. Add more meals to your diet and eat lighter. Your body stays in working condition with the energy it needs to do so. Your blood sugar needs to be at a certain level and your calories need to be in check as well. Efficient eating can do that for you, along with a few more obvious tips.
Since you were very little fruits and vegetables were a must. You would fight your parents because the taste was not very appealing. Now those two things can help you in your fight to lose weight. They are light in total but filling to your stomach, a great way to eat a lighter meal. They also have many required vitamins, antioxidants, fiber and minerals your body desperately needs.
The best advice to healthy eating is to avoid food that is flat out bad for you. That means no more fast food places and that of which is processed. Those two things are the best ways to gain fat and gain it fast. Why not eat fresh all the time, or whenever you can. No reason to put back in what you are fighting to take out.
If you are going to make a full switch to a healthy diet of course sugar is an enemy as well. Ease it out of your coffee and stay away from soft drinks and chocolate bars. Too much sugar will make you feel sluggish and offset all the good that you are doing. Remember the body has a best friend and that best friend is water, not sugar. Get your six to eight glasses in each day and you will be just fine.
What about salt? You must have heard that salt is not the best for you either. Watch this like a hawk. Find another way to get the spice kick you need with basil, rosemary, ginger, pepper, nutmeg and/or garlic, to name but some. Watch the stomach line shrink and keep the cardiovascular system working efficiently to boot. Keep your eye off that salt shaker.
You know what to avoid. You know how many meals to have. Now you must show self control when consuming food at home and away. Remember the meals must be light. Avoid seconds and thirds. Take food home in a container if you must. Know your limit. Know when you are full and know when you are pushing it beyond. You will kill your energy and strain the body with an over load. Don’t do it and you will not quit the healthy way of eating that you have started.
Of course the food will not push the body like it is suppose to without exercise of some form. Make the body work and you will get results. Find an activity that involves moving. Find a sport, take a walk, run, swim or find a machine, anything to get the blood moving. You don’t put gas in your car to just sit in the garage. You need to drive it, same thing with your body. Hit the gas whenever you can. All of this will help you lose weight and help you keep it off. That is the objective.
Getting a Jump on losing weight sometimes requires you to use a supplement for a short period of time. I have researched the best of the best and found that this is The Best Acai Supplement and this is The Best Colon Cleanse to use. You only use both for a few months and it makes a world of difference in how much you lose at the start of any diet. Try them both - your going to Amazed at the results!

Fireplace Screens - The Hazards And Why You Really Need One Today
Posted by Jeff Bridges | Filed under Arts & Entertainment
Fireplaces today have become an art form, which can be made of wood, stone, brick, marble, metal, or any other durable material that can withstand heat. Mantle styles too can vary from unadorned to stylish to ornate to fanciful. They often set the decorative tone for the whole room. Having beautiful Fireplace Screens in front of a fire therefore, can enhance to entire activity of making and having fire in your home.
It doesn’t really matter what type of fireplace you have, it goes without saying that yours must have the proper screen to protect your furniture and fixtures from those pesky embers and sparks we get from fire. You can go for the ultra mod screen or the vintage look, the sky is the limit here, because they are so decorative these days.
To have a fireplace in ones home is regarded as being lucky, as not only does it create warmth, but also gives the home character as well. There is nothing that beats a good fire when it’s really cold outside. Just sit and stare at the flames as they dance and jump and try to reach into the chimney while unwinding from a hard day’s work.
Having said that, the last thing you want is to cause a fire in the home that can bring it down to ashes. That is why it is so important to have the area covered with a screen. It can happen so quickly and without warning, that an ember or two from the wood you use, can fly out and land on a curtain or a table cloth or a carpet. If you are not there to stop it from smoldering, then the damage can become huge.
Many are made with panels which are adjustable so that you can have a better view of the fire itself. Some are three sided solid panels which can only be placed in one position. There are of course those that can fold up and be stored while the fireplace is being cleaned. The functionality of the screens today is very helpful in modern times.
A word of advise, make sure you take the exact measurement of your fireplace as this could greatly help with sourcing the perfect fit for the open area. Also safety before beauty is the order of the day here. Make sure that your screen is 100 percent safe and won’t melt or fall over.
It is really up to you to shop around and look at various Fireplace Screens, that compliment the room as well as enhances the fireplace itself. What better way to express yourself, than with a beautiful handmade screen.

Posted by Jeff Bridges | Filed under Arts & Entertainment
Phantom of the Opera is a marvelous performance that will send your feelings through an array of emotions from sadness, happiness, to fright. When planning on attending a performance of the Phantom of the Opera make sure you bring your opera glasses.
The Phantom of the Opera takes place in Paris in the nineteenth century. Two new opera house owners take over a theater that is thought to be haunted by a phantom. The phantom is said to be a man named Erik, a construction worker who helped build the hall. In reality Erik is not a ghost but is someone who was severely disfigured from birth and wears a mask on half of face to conceal his disfigured face.
As time goes on the Phantom come to one of the performers; Christine, and tells her that her father who has passed away, has sent him from heaven to give her voice lessons. The Phantom begins to train her through the walls of her dressing room, as these take place over the course of time Christine becomes a remarkable singer, and takes the leading role in the opera.
As Christine is performing one night on stage, Christine faints, and a man in the audience comes to save her. This man Raoul, we find out is a childhood friend of Christine, and begins to fall in love with her. Raoul begins to attend her performances, gifting her with flowers, and visiting with her often.
As Christine and Raoul start to fall even more in love, the Phantom; Erik watches and hears all that is happening, finally he decides to meet with Christine face to face. When he shows his face in her dressing room for the first time, he wears the mask that has made this play famous. He then abducts Christine, and takes her through winding tunnels down to his home in the secret catacombs of the opera house.
Christine finds out that The Phantom does not plan to release her. At this point she becomes very fearful and also very angry. Erik then makes a promise to her that she will be let go after staying for five more days. At this point he takes Christine on a tour of his underground home, which features many strange things. Be sure to be using your opera glasses at this point of the performance, for this part can truly not be forgotten.

Madame Butterfly, the Betrayal: A Review of the Opera
Posted by Jeff Bridges | Filed under Arts & Entertainment
Madame Butterfly is an opera written by Giacomo Puccini which is very popular. We strongly recommend opera glasses for this breathtaking opera. The reasons why are about to be shown to you.
Madame Butterfly is set in Nagasaki Japan, at the top of the hill one of our main characters, a United States Naval Officer named Pinkerton is inspecting a beautiful house with a wonderful view of the bay down below with a marriage broker by the name of Goro. Pinkerton is inspecting the home for him and his bride to be, Madame Butterfly. Upon finishing the inspection of the home, Pinkerton agrees to buy the home for 999 years, although he holds the right to cancel the agreement of the purchase during any month
The wedding ceremony is soon to take place between Pinkerton and Butterfly. A lot of Butterfly’s relatives will be flying in and coming to the wedding. Butterfly’s uncle will not attend the wedding as he is a priest.
Pinkerton of course plans to marry Butterfly however, his true goal in life is to gain the love of as many beautiful women as possible, as he puts it, and he will not be satisfied until he captures the flowers of every shore. For this reason he retained the right to cancel the agreement any month. The time approaches that the stage will introduce you to the elegant Butterfly, have your opera glasses prepared.
Before you have the chance to see the beautiful bride Butterfly, you see the American consul who is with Pinkerton. He asks Pinkerton if he truly loves his bride to be. Pinkerton tries to say yes, but alas he cannot say for sure, but knows that he is mesmerized by her innocence, charm and beauty. He then speaks of having a true wedding with an American bride.
The Beautiful Butterfly graces the stage; Butterfly and Pinkerton are married with all of Butterfly’s family in attendance. As the celebration of the wedding continues, Butterfly’s uncle, the priest breaks in to the party and condemns Butterfly for renouncing her religion to marry Pinkerton. Butterfly’s heart breaks and finds herself in the arms of Pinkerton being comforted.
Butterfly finally gets over the condemnation and curse that she received from her uncle, and remains happily married to her beloved Pinkerton. Weeks turn to months, and she can hardly contain her joy and love for the man of her dreams, she continues to fall more deeply in love with a man that does not love her back. Pinkerton one day receives notice that he is to go on duty as a naval officer; before he leaves he gives Butterfly money, and promises to return as soon as possible.
As act three begins, we come to know that three years have passed since Pinkerton walked out the door for the last time. Butterfly faithfully watches out the window each day to see if his ship will come in. One day as she is watching out the window, she sees a figure that she recognizes walking up the path. No it is not Pinkerton coming up the path, but his good friend that she has known from the beginning as his friend the American Consul. She greets him excitedly hoping that he brings news from her husband. Unknown to Butterfly, the American Consul has been sent to her by Pinkerton to tell her that he has married an American woman named Kate, and that he would not be returning to her ever. Broken hearted, the American Consul Curses Pinkerton, and gives the news so hard to bear.
Destroyed by the news left by Pinkerton’s friend, Butterfly leaves the room weeping, only to return carrying Pinkerton’s son that she has given birth to. Butterfly tells the American that Pinkerton could not leave his wife and son for another woman. After some convincing she succumbs to the fact that Pinkerton did not love her, and is not to return.
What happens next, you will have to find out for yourself, by attending Madame Butterfly. The music in this opera is delightful as it is majestic, the attention to detail, and beauty of the costumes is unforgettable. Opera Glasses, A Magnificent Manner To See All The Action On Stage From Far Away
Posted by Jeff Bridges | Filed under Arts & Entertainment
Opera Glasses are similar to binoculars but they are made for being able to see performances on stage. In old opera houses seats placed in balconies that were subsequently cheaper were very far away from the stage. In some they were so far away on the figures could be seen from that distance but seeing facial features, and thus part of the acting, was impossible to make out. Opera glasses would enable those people in the peanut gallery to see on stage much better to the point of seeing the facial expressions of the actors or singers. They have been popular since the 50’s.
Binoculars and Opera Glasses have several major differences including the fact that opera glasses are smaller and made to be unnoticed or be tucked away where no one could see them until the performance started. Today there are several types that look like a flat case easily carried in a women’s bag or in a suit pocket, but touch a button and they pop up. There are some that fold up on each other and hard to notice unless they are fully pulled out and ready to use. Some manufactures make reproductions of older models that have a rod from which to hold them called lorgnettes enabling the view to hold with one hand. This rod folds and practically disappears when not in use.
Opera glasses are easily purchased even in today’s market. A cheap model may cost under $100 US dollars, at around $50, but they can go up in price to hundreds of dollars. The expensive types will have better optics and magnifications and probably be a little more fashionable as well. Vintage opera glasses can cost increasingly more dollars just because of the fact they are old. Just make sure they still work well.
Often times theaters and opera houses will rent opera glasses for a nominal price. If you go often you may want to consider purchasing your own, but if your visits are infrequent plan on renting. Before purchasing it is a good idea to try out different styles to see what suits you best. There are those people who don’t mind holding them with both hands and some that would prefer using the one hand hold with the rod at the side. You may even find you don’t want to use them as they interfere with the performance or you find it hard to hold them in place.
Opera glasses are different in another way from binoculars. The optical system used is much simpler than that used in binoculars. It is known as the Galilean optical system and based on the system that was invented by Galileo. The view is not as sharp with opera glasses as it is with binoculars but it still enables you to see what is happening on the stage.
Most opera glasses today are made in China. Most of them have a magnification to 3 X which is adequate for a large auditorium or concert hall. Exceptions to the rule go to 5 X but they are quite expensive. Some will have a center focus and some don’t have one at all. Usually the non focus glasses have a small red LED light that appears between the eye barrels. This will enable you to read the program in dim light without disturbing your neighbor. If you have good vision these will be the ones for you however, if you have a problem with vision and wish to use the opera glasses without your corrective lenses it is better to go with the ones that can be focused. Since there is a central focusing mechanism there is no room for the light so focused opera glasses will not have one.
Most opera glasses come in a case and especially the antique variety. Some are soft cloth cases and some are hard lined with velvet. Vintage glasses are made of ivory, enamel that was heavily cloisonne?and they might have gems on them or be edged in gold. They were elegant yet supposed to be unobtrusive. Vintage and modern opera glasses make a wonderful gift for those that go to the theater, opera or ballet on a regular basis.
Before you attend any performance make sure that you have a good pair of opera glasses. Here you can check out Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!
