Be careful whom you share your holiday traveling plans with. When you leave make sure your spare key is not in an easy to find spot. If you can quickly find it, so can a thief. Instead, leave the spare key with your house sitter or a trusted neighbor for any emergencies.
Be careful of your answering machine messages. You don’t want to leave a message saying you will be away for the holidays. If you would like to leave a festive message wishing the caller a happy holiday you can do so, just leave the traveling plans off of it.
